Sacaton Mts., Arizona
As a small range located mainly on the Gila River Indian Reservation, the
Sacaton Mts. don't get much attention from non-tribal members. However,
parts of the Sacatons are not only quite beautiful but also refreshingly
devoid
of buildings, roads and trails, making this rugged patch of Sonoran
Desert a
worthwhile
place to explore.
During the state-wide "superbloom" in the
spring
of 2023 the Sacatons became covered in all types of wildflowers including
as many lupines as I have ever seen anywhere in Arizona at any time.
