Maricopa Mts., Arizona
These photos were taken throughout the South Maricopa Mts. Wilderness,
which is part of Sonoran Desert National Monument managed by the BLM.
No buildings. No facilities. No roads. No litter. No target shooting. No bullet shells.
Not even any hiking trails in the areas I explored. Just an amazingly pristine patch
of desert not far from Phoenix with surprisingly little visitation. Well, except
for the occasional fly-by of fighter jets from nearby Barry M. Goldwater
Bombing Range and their sonic booms…but that’s kinda cool.
