Coal Mine Canyon, Arizona
Coal Mine Canyon spans the Navajo and Hopi Reservations in
the high desert of northern Arizona. With no paved roads or visitor
centers, the colorful gorge is one of Arizona's best-kept secrets, although
it's becoming less of a secret all the time. Hopefully the Native American
tribes who own the land never develop if for mass tourism so
it retains its wild quality for many generations to come.
