This beautiful coyote was hit by a car on State Route 85 and has a severe leg injury that causes
him to limp. Unable to hunt in the wild, the resourceful critter now hangs out at the Texaco station/store
in the community of Why, Arizona (just north of Organ Pipe Monument). He has become quite acclimated
to humans and lives off hand-outs. Normally it's not a good idea to feed wildlife but I think an exception
is in order for this disabled dog. After staring at me with his sad-but-friendly eyes, the coyote managed
to coax me into buying him a big can of chicken breast from the store he now calls home.
